Re: 2025 Draw!

Wahs game is at Mt Smart.
Funnily enough, they're playing in Christchurch on ANZAC Day (v Newcastle)

No WCC next year, presumably a major reason being that both Wigan and Penrith are playing in Vegas. Though had we and Hull KR won the respective GFs, I highly doubt WCC would have gone ahead anyway.

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers

I suspect next year we may find out just how important Jarome Luai was to them. Yes a lot of stars have left (and been more than adequately replaced) during their ridiculous reign, but he strikes me as having been one of spiritual leaders in that group, along with perhaps Brian To’o and Isaah Yeo. H...

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers

Like a few here, the longer this week has dragged on, the less confident I am becoming.
(Yes, I forgot that Wayne Bennett was co-coach with Don Furner at Canberra in 1987, so Craig has now joined him on ten grand finals.)

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers

Ngl, if we win, it will feel to me like we've "pinched" one, even though we won the minor premiership by two clear games. I just feel that several teams with more stacked rosters than ours have underperformed this year. But I won't complain. Take it and run. Given all that, Craig deserves ...

Re: Milestone Thread 2024

10th First Grade Grand Final for Craig Bellamy as a coach (he won a comp. with Canberra as a player in 1990), one more the Wayne Bennett*. * Bennett's tally includes the 1997 Super League Grand Final for the purposes of this exercise. Storm's 11th Grand Final overall, the most of any club in the NRL...

Re: Prelim Final

May be quite a few people down from Sydney for both this game and the AFL GF. May they only get the second leg of the double (Swans), at best.

Re: Super League thread

Les Catalans through 12-6. Saints won't be fivepeating. It's the end of the road for two bona fide legends of the game in the UK - Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and James Roby.

Re: Official thread and signing news

Yeah, I don't think four flag hero Joel Selwood feels that not going b2b diminishes his achievements, even though 2008 was probably the one that got away. I will say that it's a lot more difficult for a non-NSW team to repeat. Canberra (technically a NSW team) and Brisbane are the only non-NSW based...

Re: 1st Semi Final vs Roosters @ AAMI Park

Eighth preliminary final in nine seasons. But yeah it does feel like something of an indictment on the competition that we’re there this year (after such an indifferent season).

Re: 1st Semi Final vs Roosters @ AAMI Park

Only a basic GA member, so used my AAN to get a seat in the alcohol free section - it was $20 (plus the usual fee).

If we win we'll be into our eighth preliminary final in nine seasons. If we lose it's straight sets like 2013, and a wasted season.

Re: Finals Week 1 vs Broncos - 2nd Qualifying Final - Suncorp Stadium

I think if we beat the Roosters, we’ll play the Panthers at Homebush (Accor). Could be wrong, though.
