Re: Official thread and signing news
For all the talk about players going to Melbourne and just getting better, I feel like we never got the best out of Tepai - which is a shame because I like him as a player. He was held in super high regard coming through the grades, playing Australian schoolboys union. Even once playing NRL, he was ...

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
I doubt Bellamy names Lazarus for the GF and then swaps him out come game day.

Re: Rep Teams and Awards 2024
Far out, I didn’t think it would be that close. Congrats Hughesy. Well deserved.

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
Exactly. We will target his edge anyway as it can leak points and we have already had success there. But I don’t think we give Nathan’s possible injury any consideration. We play exactly as we would if he was 100% fit. Get a quick PTB and flood the middle. Target key areas where defensive issues hav...

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
I agree. I think it was hammed up for effect. Whether injured or not, we just need to focus on playing our best game, straight up the middle. If we go away from that in order to try and get at Cleary on the edge, we take away from our true strength. I doubt Bellamy falls for this and gets drawn into...

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
I agree, Ghabar did leave a lot of useful points out for whatever reason. At least from what I read.
Ghabar did make that point however, that by the time impact occurred, NAS was essentially standing still and awaiting Collins to come forward and make contact.

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
They have genuinely ignored the NRL’s own definitions for Grade 3. It is actually hard to believe it didn’t at least get changed to a Grade 2.

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
And no mitigating factors? Really???
Katoa making contact with Collins and impacting the subsequent contact with NAS doesn’t count apparently?

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
Also saw this; Grade 3 Charges will generally see key indicators in the moderate to high range with several aggravating factors. There is generally no mitigating factors for the player charged. Aggravating factors are things like; - Rushing out of the line - Leaving your feet - Not looking before co...

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
The NRL Judiciary Panel is made of former players, referees and coaches, with six members for the season. Former international players Bob Lindner and Tony Puletua along with former referees Henry Perenara, Greg McCallum, Sean Hampstead and Paul Simpkins. From the NRL website. The Judiciary docs (a...

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
You know what’s interesting… Terrell May violently assaults a bloke in a pub. Brings the game into disrepute. Gets two weeks suspension and the NRL says, “The fans want to see the best players, you can serve those games early next year - please play finals”. NAS makes accidental contact in a tackle....

Re: Grand Final - Storm v Panthers
No exaggeration, after every single tackle, the Panthers at marker rise to their feet and have hands all over the ball. The Sharks ruck was slowed down so much because of it. Every tackle the Sharks players had to rip their arms and the ball away in order to play it and the Panthers never get pinged...
