He’s more like a better version of Joe Chan to me. I love the aggression he plays with. I think remember him drilling I think it might’ve been Gutho this year? We have a real lack of aggression in our forward pack at the moment. He runs a nice line too and showed good try scoring ability late in the year. His defence is probably the main lacking right now (only 86% efficiency last year).yanjarra wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 9:42 pmHope blore stays, we've put a lot into him and I think he's still got more to give.Stormszn wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 9:32 pmAll reports are that Blore will be leaving. Keeley is better than Chan and Lisati imo. I’m a big fan.yanjarra wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 9:26 pm Was hoping we might be a shot at lemuelu with dolphins stacked back row.
They've made the right move if they have priortised him over keeley.
I dont see much in him, doubt he'll make the starting side especially if katoa returns. Might be handy on the bench.
Keeley seems to have a decent work rate, but he's about to turn 23 and I don't know if much else sticks out about his game. Isn't he kind of like a poor mans dylan lucas? What do u like about his game Stormszn?

I like the signing too. It’s really alarming how the club doesn’t have many specialists second-rowers at the moment.Stormszn wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 9:54 pmHe’s more like a better version of Joe Chan to me. It really is a position that (like five-eighth and centre have over the past few years) needs a certain type of player and a utility can’t normally hold it down.
In the long-term, Chan might be a second-rower but I could potentially see him playing lock. Same with MacDonald.

Agree on a noticeable lack of aggression/ intimidation in our pack especially with no nas. Compared to bris, raiders, panthers - other teams would be breathing some sighs of relief they aren't going to have the same levels of physical assualt as those top 3 when playing us. Our pack has to play 10% above themselves each week as a result which I think catches up to us late season. Only gotten worse with the eli thing. If keeley helps this - great. It's not something I associated with his game, but admit I didn't watch him that closely this year, never caught my eye, probably to busy man crushing on farnworth for my fantasy team in dolphins games- wish we signed him. Hope you're right. He might actually be a decent defender despite those stats, not watched his technique closely, but dolphins like dogs are one of those teams that go with a defensive pattern that allows the 2nd rowers/centres to rush out of the line to take time away, and dont mind if the first tackle is missed as long as it disrupts and the 2nd, 3rd in clean up. Those stats might be more an indication of that, escpecially if he is aggressive and has lisence to rush in. One things for sure, he won't be doing that at storm while bellys there
Trent is a 1 man band in the aggression department now. He needs help. I believe that contributes to him crossing the line discipline wise at times as there's a lot on his shoulders to provide that atm, and subsequently he's alway redlining. We saw his origin performance when he was in a pack who were all capable of that as well. Hetherington should help in that regard next year if nothing else. Hopefully we can see an improvement in discipline from both, as they could be assets or liabilities depending which way they go; CONTROLLED aggression is key. Important year in both mens careers.

Yep I’m a fan of the Hetherington signing for that reason alone. I think he may surprise some next year if Craig can get him to channel his aggression well. He’s always had the talent.yanjarra wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 5:35 pmStormszn wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 9:54 pmHe’s more like a better version of Joe Chan to me. I love the aggression he plays with. Apparently Keaon Koloamatangi wants to stay in Sydney......so we can put a line through him being recruited by Melbourne Storm

Kane tried hard but he was always just an injury stop gap. If u21 wingers aren’t coming through and showing a load more talent to replace guys like Kane, we’re in a heap of trouble. Wish him well for his future…but Q Cup is his level.

I think the issue is he’s not really a winger. He got absolutely burnt a few times by jamming in.
Probably better off bulking up a tad and moving back to the second-row. Great player in the air too.
